Writing for Pleasure.
You don’t have to have written a best seller to join our group. We meet to share our ideas and get our words flowing in an entertaining and happy two hour session.
This includes writing from story prompts, many forms of poetry, reviews and even limericks (polite of course) and the odd personal ad!
It is always surprising how one title can create so many different stories.
We also enjoy a break for tea and delicious biscuits and a chance to catch up.
Venue: We currently meet at The Friends Meeting House on Rosemary Street.
When: The Second Monday of each month
Time: 2-4 P.M
Cost: £3.00 per session, which we pay in advance three times per year.
There is a small car park for 12 cars.
We currently have two places available.

The Writing for Pleasure Group with James Elson, the well-known crime story writer, who came to the February 2026 meeting to give us his help with writing short stories.

The group hard at work, putting James' ideas into practice!
